It's been probably a decade now since I lied and said that I could skate well, but I'm sure I wasn't the only one. So what if I couldn't do a 360 kickflip while doing an ollie on a recycling bin whilst standing upside down on the board? I was able to skate up and down a street pretty steadily (a quiet side street).

The reason I claimed I was a skater then, was because far too many great brands were coming out of New York (Supreme, aNYthing, Dave's Quality Meats) and to dress the part I had to have the matching board to seem authentic enough.

It was harder to get your hands on these trends since the online shopping boom hadn't hit the masses just yet, and the only Supreme items you could find on eBay were always Dada Supreme.

Lucky for us, Grand Scheme, an independently Australian brand which incorporates a similar aesthetic is available in store now. It definitely captures the trend with their own twist to the whole genre. Check out a few snaps we received from their latest collection to get a feel of what they stand for.

I know that I'm late with this post, but I was too busy yesterday trying to get my mits on the hottest tickets to grace our shores since the Beatles back in '64.

It's true ladies and gents, Radiohead are coming and showcasing their multi-decade career right before our very eyes. The band that's considered as one of the most innovative peaked (in my opinion), with their last two albums 'In Rainbows' and 'King of Limbs'. Which is why this tour will be more exciting than their last visit in 2004.

AUTONOMY AUTUMN WINTER 2012

The Autonomy Winter 12 collection, ‘A Day in time’ is a snap shot of the 1950’s. The range re-creates the uniform of the original rebel. A story of smart silhouettes and clever cuts include longer-line jackets, peg-leg pants, heavy melange knits and crisp shirts. TREND FORECAST: NEW BALANCE

I always try to make a conscious effort to check out blogs during New York and Paris Mens Fashion Weeks to keep on top of upcoming trends. Of course it's nothing like being at the actual shows, but viewing the collections from afar makes it easy to piece together the trends across the board.

During this year's shows so far, I've noticed a few stand out trends and the one that particularly jumped out at me was New Balance. It's interesting to see it's transition from being "street" to a more up-market style this time around and now seen as a decent substitute to your Converse All Star or the Vans Authentic.

Not only are New Balance now stylish, but they are also pretty comfortable too, being the first running shoe to be designed with a ripple sole. That technology is unchanged.

Dakota 501 currently stock the New Balance 574, in the colours black, navy blue, maroon and bottle green.

‘Long Distance’ – the 2010 album by the artist ‘Onra’, harks back to the good ol’ days of disco and dance-off’s. Mixing his beat-driven style with samples and sounds from a bygone era, this album with have you wishing you were roller-skating along a Miami Beach in an oversized Hawaiian Shirt. Don’t get the wrong impression though; Onra expertly brings it all together to (thankfully) provide us with this seriously classy and relevant record.
